What is a monitored alarm?

Monitored Alarm Systems are linked to a Receiving Centre by telephone/broadband or GSM/GPRS and if an alarm is raised the Receiving Centre will have various contacts that can be notified.

Will the Police come out?

This is a little complex.  The police may come out to premises if an alarm is installed to a specific standard.  They don’t want to go out to false alarms so as long as the alarm is complimented with Video Verification, Audio Verification and Sequential Verification (two different detectors) the police are likely to come out to your premise as it is a real threat.

Can I monitor my own alarm?

Yes, most modern alarm systems have a monitoring facility that links into other systems such as CCTV and can be viewed through a Smartphone App.

Does every room need a detector/sensor?

Generally speaking rooms with external access and high cost valuables should have a detection system within them.
